The Benefits Of Skin Peels
Dr Philippa McCaffery, Clinical Director of Clearskincare Clinics tells us why Skin Peels are essential for maintaining the health of your skin and improving signs of ageing. She discusses the essential ingredients in our different types of Skin Peels and lets us know why peeling the skin is so good. Many celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and Kourtney Kardashian love Skin Peels.
Find out why!
Did you ever wonder why your skin is not as bright and clear as when you were young? The skin naturally replaces itself every 40 days, but this process slows down as we age. Accumulated dead skin cells causes the skin to look dull as it does not reflect light evenly. Peeling the skin removes dead skin cells and stimulates up your skin cell growth cycle which has many anti-ageing benefits for your skin. Regular peeling strengthens the outer layer of the skin, improves texture, softness, superficial blemishes and uneven skin tone.
Dr Philippa McCaffery has extensively researched and trialed many different types of peels over the years. Our peels are made from sugar cane, sour milk, mushroom and even bark.
Lactic Acid Peel
For Hydration & Anti-Ageing
Lactic acid, derived from sour milk, gives a gentle nourishing exfoliation. This is a gentle peel that stimulates your skin growth cycle and natural collagen production, instantly brightening, lightening and hydration of the skin.
Glycolic Acid Peel
For Tightening & Brightening
Glycolic acid is derived from sugar cane and delivers the most dramatic instant results. It’s small molecular weight enables it to penetrate the hard outer layer of the epidermis, achieving a deep exfoliation & “instant” brightening and tightening of the skin. We offer glycolic peels ranging from 8% to 30%. We start gently then build potency over time. This is an anti-ageing peel.
For Scarring & Hyper-pigmentation
TCA is made by mixing chlorine with acetic acid. In high concentrations, TCA is a medium to deep intensive peel with a long downtime. Used in low concentrations and when layered with glcolic and lactic acids, it is an excellent peel for improving skin texture, hyper pigmentation, fine lines and superficial scarring. is make from a chemical compound and is more intensive that most peels.
