How many treatments is best?

Because hyperpigmentation in all its guises takes time to lift, we recommend you start with a minimum of three peels. Melasma on the other hand is hormonal, which means we can manage and suppress it ongoing with a continuing treatment plan. For the best results and value, our Skin Journeys™ combine peels, treatments and at-home skincare for a total treatment solution.

What can I expect after?

The good news is, there’s very minimal downtime with our Overnight Peels. Your skin may be a little sensitive, flush and feel warm immediately after the treatment, but this typically subsides within 4 – 6 hours. You must keep your peel on for between 8 – 12 hours and wash it off with cold water. Over the course of the following 1 to 3 days, some people experience mild flaking and dryness of the skin, which is the skin shedding itself.

Does it hurt?

No, our Overnight Peels do not hurt – though, you may experience some tingling, itchiness or warmth during the treatment. Don’t worry, this is completely normal and a sign the peel is getting to work exfoliating your skin.

How long between treatments?

It’s recommended that our Overnight Peels are performed every 2 weeks.

FAQs

What are acid or chemical skin peels?

Acid and chemical skin peels use the process of applying an acid or chemical solution to the skin to accelerate your skin’s natural cell renewal. This is a form of accelerated exfoliation, where your skin sheds off a layer, making room for new, healthier skin. They can be used treat many skin issues like acne, dryness, dullness, fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage.

What does an overnight peel do?

An overnight peel is just a peel that’s left on overnight. The reason for this is some ingredients needed to target specific concerns require more time to work as they go deeper into the skin where they can tackle deep-seated issues.

Can you see results after your first overnight peel?

In most cases, you will start to see results the next day, but for the most part multiple overnight peels are needed as they’re designed to tackle very stubborn skin conditions.

How long should you leave an overnight peel on for?

At Clear Skincare, we recommend that you leave your Overnight Peel on for a minimum of 8 hours, but no more than 12 hours. This is long enough for the peel to penetrate deep into the skin and get to work underneath.

What are the benefits of an overnight peel?

• Decrease hyperpigmentation
• Supress melasma
• Unclog pores and help clear up acne
• Improve minor scarring and marks left by previous acne
• Improve the texture of your skin
• Increase the cell turnover rate of your skin
• Improve your skin’s ability to hold moisture
• Help your skin produce more collagen
• Reduce fine lines
• Leave your skin smooth
• Make your skin softer
• Make your skin look more even-toned
• Give you a “glow”
• Make your skin look dewy

Can overnight peels be performed on all skin types?

We have a large selection of peels to suit most skin types. Your skin therapist will advise you on which peel is the best for your individual needs and concerns. Peels are suitable for most skin types and are considered one of the most effective treatments for a broad range of skin concerns. Peels are generally safe and beneficial for all ages and skin types.

How does it feel? Are peels painful?

You may feel stinging, heat and even itching while the peel in performed. Those sensations will stop once the peel is over. Your skin therapist will check in with you throughout the peel, to ensure you don’t feel any discomfort.

How long will my skin take to heal after a skin peel?

Treated areas take one to seven days to heal after a light chemical peel. New skin might temporarily be lighter or darker than normal. After a medium to strong strength chemical peel, treated skin may be red, tight and swollen. Some people see results immediately after treatment, or as little as 5 days after. Other people won’t see results until about three weeks following their peel once new skin has regenerated.

How can I maximise results?

For the very best results, we recommend a minimum of three Overnight Peels preceded by an LED Light Treatment increase your skin’s cell renewal and speed up the skin’s natural healing process. Prescribed homecare products are essential to achieving optimum results. To further maximise results we recommend the use of mini peels in between your clinic visits to maintain and accelerate your in-clinic results.
