FAQs

What is teeth whitening?

The process of teeth whitening lightens the colour of teeth. Teeth whitening can be achieved by either changing the intrinsic colour or by removing and controlling the formation of extrinsic stains. The chemical degradation of the chromogens within or on the tooth is termed as bleaching.

How long does it take to see results from teeth whitening?

When it comes to teeth whitening, it is essential to understand that the amount of whitening necessary depends on the amount of stain on the teeth. For best results, we recommend 3 consecutive treatments 4 weeks apart. After that, clients generally schedule treatments every 3 – 6 months, depending on their desired outcome and how their lifestyle affects the colour of their teeth.

Can you get your teeth professionally whitened?

Yes, professional teeth whitening is the most popular cosmetic dental procedure in the world.

The whitening procedure lightens discolouration of the teeth’s enamel and dentin with a unique formula that creates an oxidation reaction. Oxygen enters into the enamel and dentin, which in turn breaks down the stain inside the tooth.

Clear Skincare’s Teeth Whitening Treatment utilises approved materials and equipment that deliver impressive results, whitening even the toughest stains.

What to avoid after a Teeth Whitening Treatment?

Avoid dark or strongly coloured liquids: for instance, tea, coffee, red wine, cola, and tomato juice. Avoid acidic beverages: such as soft drinks, fruit juices and alcohol in general. Avoid foods with natural or added colourants: beef, soy sauce, ketchup and chocolate are examples.

Is it safe to get your teeth whitened?

Yes, research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth with custom trays using a carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide formula is safe for healthy teeth and gums.

While teeth whitening is considered safe, you may experience some teeth sensitivity from treatments. You may experience this on your first or second treatment, and it may diminish with time.

Does whitening damage your teeth?

The conclusive answer is no: teeth whitening gel will not damage or harm your tooth enamel. In order to achieve successful whitening, the product flows through the enamel tubules and begins to lighten the underlying stained tissue. Whitening products can cause temporary tooth sensitivity.
