Frequently Asked Questions
Rosacea is a non-contagious skin inflammation that primarily affects the facial area. Surface capillaries dilate; creating a red flush that may be accompanied by small pustules and lumps. It tends to make its first appearance between the ages of 30 and 50; affects men and women, including those who have not previously experienced skin problems; and there is no permanent cure. Rosacea is mostly predominant in fairer skins. Varying in severity, rosacea symptoms can range from pink patches, which can look like flushing across the nose and cheeks through to a sporadic and angry red rash with yellow-headed pustules. Severe rosacea can result in enlarged, reddened noses.
Laser Pore Minimising & Toning and Laser Redness & Rosacea improves the quality, tone and texture of the skin through subtle thermal heating using a non-evasive ND Yag laser. The deep thermal heat stimulates collagen and dilated capillary regeneration to reduce the appearance of textural imperfections. This in turn results in a healthier brighter more even complexion. The treatment is quick, painless with no downtime.
The heat used in this procedure can cause the treatment area to be flushed immediately after treatment and may also have some residual heat which will dissipate over the following 24-48 hours.
We recommend 4 weekly treatments then reducing to fortnightly Treatments. This may also be supported by a follow up treatment of Laser Vein and Capillary Reduction to eliminate any vascular imperfections The number of sessions depends on the severity of each individual but can range from 6 to 8 treatments. In many cases the visible signs and improvements can be immediate. Rosacea may reoccur over time; and maintenance treatments can be required when the first signs of redness appear.
The treatment takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
The treatment has minimal downtime.
